About the show
Queen City Shakespeare Co. kicks off its second season with macbitches, a razor-sharp contemporary dark comedy by Sophie McIntosh. In partnership with The GLO Center, this intimate production invites audiences into a deliciously unhinged night of ambition, insecurity, and power plays.
When a wide-eyed freshman lands the coveted role of Lady Macbeth, the theater department’s reigning queens aren’t exactly thrilled. Instead, they invite her over to “celebrate”—but the night quickly spirals into something far messier. As Fireball and Svedka pour freely, alliances shift, egos flare, and the line between performance and reality starts to blur.
Part party, part psychological battleground, macbitches dives headfirst into the chaos of young ambition—asking who gets to take the spotlight, who gets pushed out, and how far someone will go to stay on top.
